    Applications for Reception 2022

    Dear Parents of Nursery Children,

    The admission round for children wishing to start Reception in September 2022 opened on 1 November and families can make applications online until midnight on 15 January 2022.

    11th Boy's Brigade

    If anyone is looking for a youth organisation for their son to join in the local area we would welcome new members at the 11th Leeds Boys Brigade.
    Join the Adventure Today at the 11th Leeds based at Whingate Methodist Church on Wednesday evenings in school term time!
    Please see the attached leaflet for further information and times of the sessions.
    The Boys’ Brigade is open to children and young people aged from 5 to 18, of any faith and background.
    Our Age Groups
    • Anchors for children aged 5–8 years (Reception through to year 3), 6pm to 7pm
    • Juniors for children aged 8–11 years (years 4 to 6), 6.30 to 8pm
    Our Leaders
    Our leaders are only appointed after undertaking a safe recruitment process which includes vetting & barring checks and training, which enables us to provide a safe and caring environment for all children & young people.
    Did you know? The Boys’ Brigade has been going for over 135 years, and so we have a proven track record that you can trust. Millions of children and young people have been involved in The Boys’ Brigade at some point in their lives!
    We offer a variety of activities using materials from the 6 following headings:
    Get Active
    A variety of games and physical activities
    Get Adventurous
    Activities which encourage our young people to step outside their comfort zone or take them beyond their normal meeting place.
    Get into the Bible
    Activities which enable our young people to explore and experience Christian Faith in a fun and exciting ways.
    Get Learning
    Activities which encourage our young people to gain knowledge and develop skills and problem-solving abilities which support them making good life choices.
    Get Creative
    Activities which encourage our young people to express themselves through craft and the arts
    Get involved
    Activities which encourage our young people to get involved in social action, both locally and globally and prepare them to be active citizens ,

    England Rocks Event

    Please see the attached newsletter about our Times Table Rockstars England Rocks Competition.

    To celebrate the event, we are inviting all children in Years 2-6 to come dressed in their best rock star clothing on Thursday 11th November. This could be as simple as non-uniform or they could wear wigs, hats, sunglasses, face paint, hair spray etc.

    Year 5 children will not need to come to school in PE kit on this day.
